Do you have a physical bookshop in Berlin?

We currently sell our books online.

You can also find our curated bookshelf at The Panda Noodle (Lausitzer Pl. 12, 10997 Berlin, Germany). Grab a meal there if you visit, you won't regret it!

Do you offer delivery pick-up in Berlin?

Yes we do! We offer free pick-up service twice a week at a local shop in Neukölln. 

Simply select the pick-up option at checkout, and we will send you an email of all the details.

Are the books you sell brand new or secondhand?

At The Gentle Bookshop, we sell both brand new and secondhand books. This is specified at the end of every product description as well as the condition of every secondhand book at our independent bookstore online.

Do you buy secondhand books from customers to sell?

Yes, we do! If you live in Berlin and are interested in making money from your secondhand books written by BIPOC or LGBTQ+ authors, we are happy to buy them. Please get in touch with our Berlin bookshop info@thegentlebookshop.com, stating the book title, author and condition.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes, we do! You can buy gift vouchers for the value of 10€, 25€, 50€ and 100€ here

The gift card is a digital product and will be sent to you via email as a PDF usually within 24-48 hours, as we need to process a unique voucher code for you. Send them to your friends or family, personalise them and print them out.

Do you ship worldwide and how much will delivery cost?

Yes! The Gentle Bookshop will ship to you no matter where in the world you are from our Berlin bookshop. Simply enter your address at the checkout to view the shipping costs.

How long will delivery take?

At The Gentle Bookshop, we aim to deliver orders within Germany between 3 to 5 working days as we understand how important it is for you to receive your books when you expect them.

If you require a delivery within the EU, please allow 6 to 9 working days for your books to arrive.

If you require a delivery outside of the EU, please allow 14 to 28 working days for your books to arrive due to customs.

All our orders are sent with regular Deutsche Post or DHL and all orders over €50 from our independent bookstore online will automatically have a tracking number. Once your order is made, you will receive an email upon dispatch of your order letting you know it is on its way.

If there is no answer at the address when your parcel arrives, you will be left a calling card with instructions on how to collect your order at your local post office/ neighbour or rearrange delivery.

Can I change my shipping address after I’ve submitted my order?

If your order has not been marked as shipped yet, please email info@thegentlebookshop.com to see if we can change your shipping address. Unfortunately it is not currently possible to change the shipping address once the order has been marked as shipped.

Can I order a book that's sold out or currently unavailable at The Gentle Bookshop?

You can definitely get in touch with us via our contact form or email info@thegentlebookshop.com with the book title and author's name, then we will get back to you within 48 hours with it's availability date and price.

Can I track my order?

We only track orders within Germany and EU >1kg and all orders outside of the EU. We’ll provide updates at every stage of your order, from the moment you place it, through to despatch and delivery. In your delivery confirmation emails, you’ll receive a tracking number which you can use to check the progress of your order online.


Can I return or exchange an item?

Unfortunately it is not currently possible to submit a return for the books you ordered.
